Greenwood has enjoyed a bright start to life in La Liga, scoring two goals and setting up three more in his first 10 matches. According to , teams in the English top-flight have frequently sent scouts to watch him and were present when he scored possibly the best goal of his career in their 2-1 win against Almeria on Saturday.

The prospect of bringing Greenwood back to the Premier League is a contentious one for English clubs, however. Manchester United opted to send him on loan to the Spanish side following pressure from fans and staff due to his arrest on suspicion of attempted rape, assault and coercive control, though those charges were eventually dropped.
